When not to book us: The honest case against booking a car here is a strong one on paper. Belek is the closest of the eastern resorts, the directorate puts Serik only 38 km out of Antalya on a trunk road, and the intercity terminal has plenty going that way. If you are one person with a rucksack and time to spare, that will cost less than any car and you should do it. What defeats it in practice is the shape of the place. The directorate counts 23 operating hotels with 22,660 beds in the Belek region, five golf courses, a health centre, a congress centre and a tourism complex, spread out under the red pine forest along the beach, while the district's own centre sits 8 km back from the coast. There is no Belek bus station to be dropped at: the nearest terminal the municipal company runs is at Serik, the last stretch to a hotel gate is a road through forest that no timetable covers, and the airport does not even list Belek among the places its terminal serves. What does serve that direction is a provincial minibus rather than a coach, which matters once you are standing beside it with hold luggage and a set of clubs. So the comparison is not car against coach. It is car against minibus plus a local leg you will end up paying a driver for anyway, at the end of a flight. That is the calculation, and on this corridor it usually goes the same way.

Where you meet your driver

  1. Give the hotel's own name on the booking. The directorate counts 23 operating properties along this stretch with five golf courses between them, laid out under red pine forest rather than on a street grid, so a street address means less here than the hotel does.
  2. Ring your driver the moment you land, on the number in your supplier details email. That email arrives separately from the booking confirmation, so save the number to your phone before you set off.
  3. Flag golf clubs when you book, not at the kerb. They change which vehicle we send rather than how the boot is packed, and a saloon sent for four golfers is a problem nobody can fix at the airport.
  4. The airport's taxi ranks are directly in front of the arrival exits at every terminal, so the first queue you see is the rank rather than your car. Your driver will be at the designated pick-up point and will tell you where that is.
  5. Express pick-up is included in the fare, with the driver waiting at the designated point. Being met inside the arrivals hall with a name board is meet and greet, a paid extra you choose at checkout, and your flight is tracked either way, with the free waiting window in your fare starting at touchdown.

Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.

Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Belek to Antalya Airport

The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £25.94 for a saloon.

Questions people ask about this route

What does a transfer to Belek cost, and can I check it against the rank?

Our price is quoted live above and fixed when you book. The rank fare you cannot check: a rank car is metered, the airport publishes none of its own and says fare information is on a board beside the rank, and the tariff behind that meter is set by UKOME at the metropolitan municipality. We could not extract a current figure from the decisions UKOME publishes, so there is no rank number on this page and we are not going to invent one.

Can I reach Belek from the airport on public transport?

Not directly, and Belek is not even on the list of destinations the airport names for Antalya's intercity terminal, which sits about 4 km north of the city centre. What runs east from there is a provincial minibus rather than a coach. The nearest terminal the municipal transport company runs is at Serik, and the resort strip is a further drive from there.

How long is the run out to the Belek hotels?

It is the shortest of the eastern resort transfers. The provincial directorate puts Serik, the district Belek sits in, 38 km east of Antalya on the trunk road to Mersin, with 22 km of coast and its own centre 8 km inland. The live quote above gives the driving distance and time to your exact hotel, which is the number that matters when the hotels are spread along the beach.

Why is Belek so spread out?

Because of what is in it. The directorate counts 24 accommodation properties in the Belek region, 23 of them operating with 22,660 beds, along with five golf courses, a health centre, a congress centre and a tourism complex, and it describes the hotels as built in keeping with the red pine forest they sit under. Put that many beds and five courses along one stretch of coast and the hotels end up behind gates a few kilometres apart, which is why the walk to the next one is not a walk.

Can the driver stop at Aspendos on the way?

Ask at booking and we will price it in. The site is at Belkıs in the same district, open daily from 08:00 and closing at 18:45, and the directorate gives the approach as turning north off the Antalya to Alanya road past Serik onto a 4 km side road. The Roman theatre there was built between 138 and 164 AD, seats 15,000 and survived because the Seljuks used it as a palace.

We are here for the golf. Does that change the booking?

It changes the vehicle. Clubs take the space cases would, so tell us the number of bags and we quote the size that actually fits. Golf is what the directorate credits with making Belek one of the centres where the sport's world famous players appear, so this is the most common reason people here book ahead rather than take their chances.

Which door do we come out of to find the car?

At Terminal 2 the airport publishes an arrival plan with the answer on it. The Private Transfer Passenger Pick-up Area is out at Peron G and H, past the taxi rank, and that is the express pick-up your fare includes. The Private Transfer Meet and Greet Area is the spot just outside the arrival doors by the TÜRSAB and Tourism Police desks, where a driver holds a name board, and that is meet and greet, a paid extra at checkout. At Terminal 1 and the Domestic Terminal no such plan is published, so the phone call to your driver is what settles it.

Can you collect from the hotel for the flight home?

Yes, at any hour and at the fare agreed when you booked. Give the hotel name in the notes and let reception know the time as well, since many properties here have a barrier and a long drive in from the road.

Will our clubs and our cases go in one car?

That depends on the count, which is why we ask for it. A saloon carries three passengers and three standard suitcases, an estate four passengers with the same three cases, and a people carrier five passengers with four cases. The largest vehicle we quote takes eight passengers and eight cases. A set of clubs occupies roughly the space of a case, so four golfers with both clubs and cases come to eight items of luggage, which is the largest vehicle rather than the people carrier. Child seats are added as a request when you book.

What if the flight is late, and what are the cancellation terms?

The flight is tracked at no charge and the pick-up moves to the real landing time, and the free waiting window in your fare starts when the aircraft is down. Cancel more than 24 hours ahead and nothing is charged; inside 24 hours the fare is payable in full. You pay online by card when you book, for the vehicle rather than per person.
