When not to book us: On this corridor the cheap option is worse than it looks, and it is worth being precise about why. Everyone else landing here who is heading for a resort goes to the intercity terminal 4 km north of the city centre. Kemer traffic does not: the airport says plainly that the Kemer minibuses go from the Kemer bus stop on the western side of the city, which is the far side from the airport. So the saving costs you a crossing of Antalya before anything starts, and you make it with your luggage at whatever hour you landed. It is a minibus rather than a coach at the end of that crossing, which is a real consideration with hold luggage for a family. Once you are moving it is a good road, 43 km along the coast under the Western Taurus with the mountains on one side and the sea on the other, and the service will get you to Kemer town. What it will not do is sort out which Kemer you meant. The district holds three separate resort townships in Çamyuva, Göynük and Tekirova, and Beldibi, which half the brochures sell as Kemer, is not administratively in Kemer at all: its municipality was abolished and it belongs to Konyaaltı. A driver given the hotel name goes to the right one. If you are two people arriving in daylight for Kemer town itself, take the cheap way with our blessing. For anything else along that 46 km of coast, the car is doing work the timetable cannot.

Where you meet your driver

  1. Name the township, not the region. Kemer district contains Çamyuva, Göynük and Tekirova as separate places, and Beldibi is not in Kemer district at all: its municipality was dissolved and it sits under Konyaaltı. The hotel name on the booking settles all of that.
  2. Ring your driver as soon as you land, on the number in the supplier details email. It arrives separately from your booking confirmation, so put it in your phone before you travel.
  3. Do not join the queue outside the arrival exit. That is the airport's rank, which it places in front of the arrival exits at every terminal, and your car is at the designated pick-up point instead.
  4. Express pick-up is included in the fare, with the driver waiting at the designated point. A name board in the arrivals hall is meet and greet, a paid extra at checkout. Either way the flight is tracked and the free waiting window in your fare starts at touchdown.
  5. If you are landing outside the season, check the hotel is open before you travel. The directorate describes Kemer's working life as running between May and October and notably quiet either side of it, and a closed reception at midnight is a longer problem than a transfer.

How much is a taxi from Antalya Airport to Kemer?

Is there a bus from Antalya Airport to Kemer?

Not from the airport, and Kemer does not use the terminal the other resorts use. The airport says the Kemer minibuses go from the Kemer bus stop on the western side of the Antalya city centre, while the intercity terminal 4 km north of the centre covers Side, Manavgat, Alanya and the other cities. Getting to that western stop from the airport is a journey across the whole city.

How far is Kemer from Antalya Airport?

The provincial directorate puts Kemer town 43 km west of Antalya, which makes the airport run longer than the number suggests, because the airport is on the eastern side of the city. The road follows 46 km of coast at the foot of the Western Taurus, forest and mountain inland, sea on the other side.

Is Beldibi in Kemer?

Not administratively, and this catches people out every season. The directorate records that Beldibi's municipality was abolished, the place became a neighbourhood and it was attached to Konyaaltı district. It is on the same coast road, closer to Antalya, and a booking that just says Kemer will not get you there.

What is the difference between Kemer, Göynük, Çamyuva and Tekirova?

They are four separate places along the same stretch of coast, and the directorate lists the last three as townships of their own within the district. Tekirova is the furthest out, which is why transfer times to it are longer than to Kemer town even though the brochure name is the same.

Can the driver stop at Phaselis?

Ask when you book and we will price it in. The site is at Tekirova Mahallesi in Kemer district, open every day from 08:00 until 20:00 with the ticket window closing at 19:30, on a small peninsula under pine forest. The directorate puts it 15 km from the centre of Kemer and dates its founding to 690 BC.

Is it worth coming out of season?

The swimming holds up longer than most people expect: the directorate gives the sea at 27 to 29 degrees in summer and 10 to 12 in winter, and says that allows eight months in the water, with about 300 sunny days a year. What thins out is everything on land, since it describes the district's working life as running May to October.
