How much is a taxi from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza Town?

Ibiza Airport sits south west of Eivissa, seven kilometres from the town centre by the council's own reckoning, and the road in runs through the village of Sant Jordi. The island is small enough that nothing is really far: the choice here is almost never about distance, it is about the hour you land, how many of you there are and how much you are carrying.

Our price is agreed when you book and does not move afterwards. A rank car is metered under the island tariff, which counts distance and standing time, switches to a higher rate at night, on Saturday afternoons and on holidays, and adds a supplement because the journey starts at the airport. The same trip is therefore not the same money at two in the morning as it is at noon.

When the rank is the better choice: a daytime arrival outside the summer peak, one or two of you, hand luggage only, going into Eivissa itself. Booking ahead earns its keep in July and August, on a late landing, with a group, with hold luggage, or when the address is a villa up a lane that needs a postcode rather than a place name.

Where do I meet my driver at Ibiza?

  1. Come through into arrivals on Floor 0 of the passenger terminal. The tourist information desk run by the Consell Insular de Ibiza is on the same floor if you need it.
  2. Ibiza Airport publishes no fixed meeting point for pre-booked drivers, so your driver will tell you where they are waiting. Whatever they say, it is not the rank: the line of cars along the main terminal frontage is the municipal queue run under Sant Josep de sa Talaia's ordinance, with its own turn order.
  3. Express pick-up is included in your fixed price. If you would rather be met inside the arrivals hall with a name board, add meet and greet at checkout.
  4. Your booking includes 60 minutes free waiting after your flight lands, and we track the flight, so book for the scheduled arrival time rather than padding it.

Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.

Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Rank, ride-hail, drop-off and the facts that move the meter

The tariff behind the rank meter

Approved in BOIB No. 55 of 29 April 2023 and published by Aena: 4.00 euros to start, 1.21 euros per kilometre by day, 1.47 euros per kilometre at night and on holidays, and waiting time charged at 21.70 euros an hour by day.

(Aena (Ibiza Airport), citing BOIB No. 55, checked 14 September 2026)

The airport supplement, and the figure the airport's own page disagrees with

The fares table, approved in BOIB No. 55 of 29 April 2023, gives a port or airport supplement of 2.00 euros. A second supplements block further down the same Aena page shows 1.85 euros and carries no date and no bulletin number. Neither figure is a scam, and the airport's page does not tell you which of its own two is current.

There are two ranks at Ibiza Airport, not one

Rank A is a cordon along the main terminal facade from the first arrivals door, capped at twenty cars. Everything else waits in rank B before the terminal building and moves up in strict arrival order. It is why the queue can look short and still take a while to clear.

(Ajuntament de Sant Josep de sa Talaia, BOIB No. 164, checked 14 September 2026)

The fleet doubles for the summer

Sixty-nine taxis serve the airport all year, three of them wheelchair-equipped. From June to September inclusive another seventy are added, taking the total to 139. Outside those four months there is no reserve to call on.

(Aena (Ibiza Airport), checked 14 September 2026)

Compulsory duty shifts on the busiest nights

Sant Josep's ordinance puts airport work on a par with health services and emergencies, and in peak season it sets compulsory duty turns on the days and nights with the most flights. Missing one is an infringement.

(Ajuntament de Sant Josep de sa Talaia, BOIB No. 164, checked 14 September 2026)

The cheapest published bus fare is not available to you

The general travel card that buys the lowest fare requires legal residence on Ibiza, costs 3.00 euros to issue and is collected in person by appointment. A visitor pays the bank card, QR or cash fare instead, and cash is the dearest of the three.

(ALSA Ibiza (Transport Public d'Eivissa), checked 14 September 2026)

No published ride-hail pick-up zone

Aena's Ibiza site offers car, bus and taxi and nothing else, and tells arriving passengers to take a taxi only from the signed rank and to avoid drivers touting elsewhere in the terminal.

Ibiza taxi questions

How much is a taxi from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza Town?

Our fixed price is quoted live on this page before you book and does not change afterwards. A rank car is metered instead: the tariff Aena publishes, approved in BOIB No. 55 of 29 April 2023, starts at 4.00 euros and adds 1.21 euros per kilometre by day, plus a 2.00 euro airport supplement, over the 7 km the Ajuntament d'Eivissa gives from the airport to the town centre.

Is there a taxi rank at Ibiza Airport?

Yes, and there are actually two. Sant Josep de sa Talaia's ordinance puts rank A in a cordon along the main terminal facade from the first arrivals door, capped at twenty cars, with the rest of the fleet queueing in rank B before the terminal building and moving up in strict order of arrival. Aena's advice is to use the signed rank and ignore anyone offering a ride elsewhere in the building.

How many taxis are there at Ibiza Airport?

Sixty-nine all year, three of them specially equipped for people with disabilities, rising to 139 from June to September when seventy seasonal cars are added. In the peak months the municipality also sets compulsory duty shifts on the days and nights with the most flights.

Is there a bus from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza Town?

Yes, two of them, both run by ALSA Ibiza. The AERO3 express reaches Ibiza Port in 20 minutes and runs every half hour from 1 May to 15 October, with airport departures from 7:15 to 23:45. The AERO2 goes via Sant Jordi, takes 40 minutes to the port and 50 to the CETIS bus station, and is the one that keeps running through the winter, with airport departures from 7:00 to 23:30.

How much is the bus from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza Town?

Both town lines cost the same: 4.90 euros in cash, or 3.50 euros if you tap a bank card or scan a QR code. The 1.20 euro fare you will see quoted elsewhere is the general travel card price, and that card requires legal residence on Ibiza, so a visitor cannot buy it.

Is the bus cheaper than a taxi from Ibiza Airport?

For one or two people travelling light into Eivissa, yes, comfortably. A card or QR fare on the AERO3 is a fraction of a metered run that starts at 4.00 euros and adds 1.21 euros a kilometre plus the airport supplement. A booked car buys you something different: a door, not a stop, a price that does not climb with the meter or the night rate, a driver already waiting, and no queue at the rank.

Is Uber available at Ibiza Airport?

Aena's Ibiza Airport site publishes three ways of getting to and from the terminal, car, bus and taxi, and lists no ride-hailing option and no ride-hail pick-up zone. Its taxi page tells passengers to take a taxi only from the signed rank and avoid drivers offering services from other points in the building.

How long does it take to get from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza Town?

The Ajuntament d'Eivissa puts the airport 7 km from the town centre on the E-20, which is a short drive outside the summer crush. For comparison, the AERO3 express is timetabled at 20 minutes, and the AERO2 takes 40 minutes to the port because it detours through Sant Jordi.

Does a taxi cost more at night in Ibiza?

Yes, though Aena publishes two night pictures and does not reconcile them. The hours appear only in its night-time rate block, from the 7 July 2022 bulletin (BOIB No. 88, which Aena's page labels No. 77): weekdays from 21:00 to 07:00, Saturdays from 15:00, and holidays. That block sets a 3.75 euro start, 1.38 euros per kilometre and 24.80 euros an hour waiting. The later fares table, from BOIB No. 55 of 29 April 2023, instead gives 1.47 euros per kilometre and 26.57 euros an hour at night and on holidays, and attaches no hours at all. Whichever the car in front of you is running, our price is set when you book, so a delayed landing at two in the morning costs what the quote said it would.

What does the meter actually count in an Ibiza taxi?

Distance and standing time, in 0.10 euro steps. Aena publishes the programming: a step every 82.64 metres or 16.59 seconds by day, and every 68.02 metres or 13.55 seconds at night and on holidays. That second figure is why a queue on the way out of the airport in the evening costs real money.

Where do I meet my driver at Ibiza Airport?

At the airport's designated pick-up point. Being met inside the arrivals hall with a name board is meet and greet, a paid extra you add at checkout, not part of the standard fare. Contact your driver as soon as you land, using the number in your supplier details email.

Does it cost anything to drop someone off at Ibiza Airport?

Aena lists a P1 general car park, a long-stay car park and an Express car park at Ibiza, but publishes no drop-off tariff and no free-minutes allowance on the airport's own pages, sending drivers to its booking site for prices. We are not going to invent a figure it does not print.

Can I have a child seat?

Yes, on request. Add the ages and the number of seats when you book so the supplier sends a car carrying the right ones. There is no charge for luggage on our side, and our prices are per vehicle rather than per person.

What happens if my flight into Ibiza is delayed?

We track your flight and move the pick-up time to match the real landing, so book for the scheduled arrival rather than padding it.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your scheduled pick-up are free. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged in full. Prices are per vehicle, fixed when you book, and paid online by card.
