When not to book us: A £9.90 seat is excellent value and for one traveller with time in hand it is the sensible buy. The catch on an airport journey is that the cheap seat is tied to a departure, and an inbound aircraft is not. National Express sells the fix for that at £5 one way, called Change and Go, which lets you board any service within 12 hours either side of the one you booked. That makes the honest solo comparison £14.90 rather than £9.90, and £29.80 rather than £19.80 for two people who both need the flexibility. Set against that: the quickest run is 2 hours 45 minutes over a route the car does free-flow in about 128 minutes, and there is nothing scheduled between 23:00 and 00:30. A fixed-price car is already flexible in that sense at no surcharge, because the driver is watching your flight rather than a clock.
Where you meet your driver
- Enter the Leicester pick-up as a full address with a postcode. It is a compact city with a good deal of one-way system in the middle, and precision at booking is what stops a driver circling on the morning of a flight.
- Look for the supplier details email. That is the message carrying your driver's mobile number, and it follows the booking confirmation rather than arriving with it.
- Flight tracking is part of the service and costs nothing. A late inbound moves your collection to the real arrival time, and the fare's free waiting allowance runs from wheels down. What it costs, above, states the allowance.
- Your driver meets you at the terminal's designated pick-up point unless you buy meet and greet, which is the paid extra that puts somebody in the arrivals hall with your name on a board.
- The black taxi ranks outside each terminal are a separate service with fares Heathrow does not publish, referring travellers to Transport for London instead. Nothing you owe us is decided at the airport.
Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.
Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £201.60 for a saloon.
Questions people ask about this route
How much is a taxi from Leicester to Heathrow?
The price shown above is a live quote for a saloon on the date you are viewing, and it holds once you book. It buys the vehicle rather than a seat in it, so the total is the same for one passenger or four. Change the date in the form to price your own trip.
Is National Express cheaper than a taxi to Heathrow?
For a single traveller, yes, and by a wide margin: fares open at £9.90 one way. Two people pay £19.80 and four pay £39.60, which is where the gap starts closing against one fare for the car and its boot.
What is Change and Go and do I need it?
It is a National Express add-on costing £5 one way that lets you take any service within 12 hours either side of the one you booked. On an airport journey most people do need it, because a fixed departure and a delayed flight are a bad pairing. Include it and the true solo fare is £14.90.
How long does the journey take?
Our routing engine puts the free-flow drive at about 128 minutes for the 105 miles. The fastest scheduled coach is 2 hours 45 minutes. Both are best cases and neither includes the walk to the stop at either end.
How often do services run and when do they stop?
Up to 14 a day, with the first at 00:30 and the last at 23:00. That leaves a quiet hour and a half overnight where a pre-booked car is the only thing that moves.
Can I book a car for a very early flight out of Heathrow?
Yes, at any hour of the night, and the fare does not rise for it. Nothing on this route is metered, so a collection at half past three in the morning prices the same as one at lunchtime.
What if my flight lands late?
Your driver tracks it and moves to the actual landing time at no cost. Free waiting is included in the fare from the moment you are on the ground, and the length of it is set out under What it costs above.
Do you cover Loughborough, Hinckley and the rest of the county?
Yes. Put the exact address into the form rather than the nearest city and the quote prices that journey. The figure is calculated for the door you name, not for a zone.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. A £9.90 ticket is per person and multiplies with your party; the car fare does not.
How do refunds and changes work?
Cancelling more than 24 hours before pick-up returns the full amount. Inside that window the fare is payable. Use the booking link in your confirmation email to amend, on the same 24-hour rule.
