When not to book us: Calpe is the longest of our three Costa Blanca runs, and the one where the ticket costs you time rather than money. At 11.11 euros an adult the L527 is honest value, and a single traveller with one bag should take it. What a car buys here is the hour you get back: the L527 is a stopping service that threads Altea and Alicante on the way north, while the road route is 76.8 km of AP-7 and N-332 that a driver covers in about an hour without stopping. Then there is the last part of the journey, which nobody advertises. Calpe climbs away from its two bays, the Arenal side and the port side are a long way apart on foot, and an ordinance given initial approval in March 2024 proposes capping the town's fleet at 25 authorisations, so a rank at the far end is a thin plan with luggage. Two people and up, or an address above the old town, and the car stops looking like the extravagant choice.

Where you meet your driver

  1. Give the exact address when you book. Calpe spreads from the Arenal beach round the Penyal to the port and up into the urbanisations behind, and the quote is built for the door you name rather than for the town.
  2. The airport names a floor 0 pick-up point for the ride-hailing apps and publishes no meeting point at all for pre-booked transfers, so your driver's own instruction is the one that matters. It will be the designated pick-up point outside arrivals, not the rank on the arrivals roadway.
  3. The free waiting window included in your fare starts when your flight lands, and flight tracking costs nothing, so give us the scheduled arrival time and let the tracking do the rest.
  4. Express pick-up comes as standard. A name board held in the arrivals hall is meet and greet, which you add at checkout as a paid extra.

Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.

Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Calpe to Alicante Airport

The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £88.02 for a saloon.

Questions people ask about this route

How much is a taxi from Alicante Airport to Calpe?

Our price is quoted live in pounds for the date and the vehicle, and it is fixed once you book. A rank car is metered instead, and because Calpe is a different municipality the journey falls under the regional interurban tariff, which Valencian law makes a maximum applied over the whole trip rather than a figure that varies with the route taken.

Is there a bus from Alicante Airport to Calpe?

Yes. Alsa runs line L527, Calpe to Altea to Alicante to the airport, in the CV 202 Las Marinas concession. The airport stop is on level 2, departures, across the pavement from the main check-in area doors rather than outside arrivals.

How much is the bus from Alicante Airport to Calpe?

11.11 euros an adult on Alsa's published fare table, in both directions. The same table prices Calp to Alicante at 9.80 euros and Calp to Altea at 2.36 euros, which is worth knowing if your plans involve a night in the city first.

How long does the drive from Alicante Airport to Calpe take?

About 60 minutes of free-flow driving over 76.8 km, which is 47.7 miles, on the N-338, the A-70, the AP-7, the N-332 and finally the CV-746. Free flow means no traffic model at all, so a summer Saturday on the N-332 above Altea will run longer than that.

Is the coach cheaper than a transfer to Calpe?

For one person, clearly: 11.11 euros against a whole vehicle is not a close call, and we would rather say so. What you are buying with the car is the stopping time the L527 spends in Altea and Alicante, and a drop at the address instead of at a stop you then walk from.

Can a Calpe taxi pick me up at the airport?

Only on a service booked in advance and running back to Calpe. Valencian law reserves the airport rank for the taxis of the municipality or joint service area where the terminal stands, and permits a car from elsewhere to load there only on a previously and expressly contracted job returning to its own area.

How many taxis does Calpe have?

Twenty five is the proposed ceiling, not yet a settled one. An ordinance given initial approval in March 2024, replacing rules written in 1996, proposes a cap of 25 authorisations set by registered population, updates the fares and puts the Penyal d'Ifac image and the taxi number on the doors. Either way it is a small fleet for a resort in August, which is the practical argument for booking the journey back out rather than counting on a rank.

Where do I meet the driver at the airport?

At the designated pick-up point outside arrivals, on your driver's instruction. The airport publishes a floor 0 point for the ride-hailing apps and none for pre-booked transfers, so there is no fixed spot to memorise in advance. A name board in the arrivals hall is meet and greet, which is a paid extra at checkout.

Does a Spanish taxi's fixed price beat the meter?

No, and it is not meant to. Valencian law lets a taxi sell a journey at a closed price and forbids that price from exceeding what the tariff in force would have produced, so it caps the meter. Our own fare is agreed in pounds before you fly and does not move afterwards.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your pick-up are free. Inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full. Prices are per vehicle, fixed when you book, and paid online by card.
