Barcelona Airport to Salou taxi

From £136.04 fixed for a pre-booked saloon to Barcelona Airport.

A private car from Barcelona Airport to Salou is from £136.04 for a saloon, fixed the moment you book. It covers 61.5 miles in about 1 hour 3 minutes. The thing to understand about this pair is that no railway runs from the airport to Salou: the airport's only line is the R2 Nord into Barcelona, and the line that reaches Salou-Port Aventura starts from Barcelona Estació de França, so the alternatives are the Plana coach from the arrivals level or a metered car on the Generalitat's interurban scale.

When not to book us: If there are one or two of you, you are staying in the middle of Salou or at one of the PortAventura hotels, and your flight lands at a civilised hour, the Empresa Plana coach from Terminal 1 arrivals will cost less than any car and we would say so plainly: from 15,95 euros a person one way, against a fare for the whole vehicle from us. Buy it on the day at the desk on Floor 0 and it is a straightforward way to travel. What it cannot do is leave when you do. It runs to a schedule, it sets you down at the Salou Apeadero by the Jaume I monument or at a named hotel door rather than at yours, and a delayed arrival simply means the next one. The car makes its case on three fronts. The first is the meter you avoid: Salou is outside the Barcelona metropolitan area, so a rank car switches to the Generalitat's interurban scale, and Article 3.1 of that order treats the route as a closed circuit back to the point of departure unless you expressly agree otherwise, which means the meter runs over the distance there and back. Article 5 puts any toll on you as well, including the toll on the driver's journey home. The second is the group: four adults with cases are four coach fares but one car, and the arithmetic flips somewhere around two or three people. The third is the railway, or rather its absence. There is no train from this airport to Salou at all. Aena lists one line at the airport and it runs into Barcelona, while the line that reaches Salou-Port Aventura begins at Barcelona Estació de França, so the rail option is really two journeys with a city crossing in the middle and luggage for the whole of it.

Where you meet your driver

  1. Book to the street and the hotel, not to Salou. Salou, La Pineda, Cap Salou and the PortAventura resort hotels are separate places several kilometres apart, and a driver sent to the wrong one costs you half an hour at the end of a flight.
  2. Check which terminal you land at before you fly. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are separate buildings on opposite sides of the airfield, linked only by Aena's free service between them, and the coach to Salou leaves from Terminal 1 arrivals.
  3. Call your driver as soon as the aircraft is on stand. The number is in the supplier details email rather than the booking confirmation, so save it to your phone before you leave home.
  4. Your fare includes express pick-up, with the driver waiting at the airport's designated pick-up point. If you would rather be met in the arrivals hall with a name board, meet and greet is a paid extra chosen at checkout.
  5. Whatever road the driver takes, the amount you agreed does not move. A metered car is the opposite case: the interurban order charges any toll to the passenger, including the toll on the driver's return leg.

Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.

Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Salou to Barcelona Airport

The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £136.04 for a saloon.

Questions people ask about this route

How much is a taxi from Barcelona Airport to Salou?

Our price is quoted live above and fixed when you book. A rank car is a different matter, because Salou is outside the Barcelona metropolitan area and the fare becomes the Generalitat's rather than the city's: 0,82 euros a kilometre on the working daytime tariff 6, 0,89 euros on the tariff 7 that covers nights, Saturdays and holidays, plus a 4,60 euro airport supplement. Article 3.1 then treats the route as a closed circuit back to the starting point unless you expressly agree otherwise, so the meter runs over the distance there and back.

Is there a train from Barcelona Airport to Salou?

No, not directly. Aena lists a single railway line at the airport, the R2 Nord from Terminal T2 into Barcelona. The line that reaches Salou is the R17, and Rodalies describes it as running from Barcelona Estació de França to Salou-Port Aventura, with a service extended to Barcelona when the park is open and an extra summer frequency. So the railway means a train into the city, a crossing of Barcelona with your cases and a second train out again.

Is there a coach from Barcelona Airport to Salou?

Yes. Aena lists Empresa Plana's La Granadella to Tarragona and Barcelona route calling at Torredembarra, Tarragona, La Pineda, Port Aventura, Salou, Cambrils and Reus, with its stop and its ticket desk at Terminal 1, Floor 0, Arrivals. The operator prices the airport transfer to Salou from 15,95 euros a person one way and 28,95 euros return.

Does the coach go to the PortAventura hotels?

The operator's own destination list includes Hotel PortAventura-Salou, Hotel Gold River-Salou and Hotel Caribe-Salou alongside the Salou Apeadero stop at the Jaume I monument and La Pineda. If you are staying inside the resort that is genuinely convenient. If you are staying in a Salou apartment off the Carrer Barcelona, you are walking the last part with your luggage.

How long does the drive take?

The tariff order that prices a metered car sets no journey time and the operators publish none for this run, so the figure here is ours rather than anybody's timetable: usually a little over an hour on the motorway down the coast, and longer on an August afternoon when the Costa Daurada is changing over. A fixed price is worth most precisely then, because a metered car is charging you for the time as well as the distance while nothing is moving.

Who pays the motorway toll?

With us, nobody. Your fare was agreed before the journey and does not change whichever road the driver takes. In a metered car it is the other way round: Article 5 of the interurban order puts the toll on the passenger, and states expressly that this includes the toll on the driver's own journey back to where they started.

Can you collect us from a Salou hotel for an early flight?

Yes, at any hour and at the price fixed when you booked. Give the hotel name and the street in the booking notes rather than just Salou. Several of the big seafront hotels load at a side street rather than the guest entrance, and telling us which door you will be standing at saves a phone call at five in the morning.

How many of us fit in one vehicle?

A saloon takes up to 3 passengers and 3 standard suitcases, an estate 4 passengers and 3 suitcases, a people carrier 5 passengers and 4 suitcases, and our largest vehicle 8 passengers and 8 suitcases. Child seats are available on request when you book, which is worth doing at the time on a family route like this one.

Do I get a receipt?

Yes, and so you should in a rank car too. The interurban order requires the driver to give you a receipt showing the price, the origin, the start and finish times, the kilometres travelled and any supplements applied, and it also gives you the right to carry your luggage free of charge. Ours arrives by email when you book.

What if we cancel?

More than 24 hours before pick-up, nothing is charged. Inside 24 hours the fare is payable in full. Payment is by card at the time of booking and covers the whole vehicle rather than the seat count, and the amount you see is the amount taken.
