How this compares
| Option | Cost for 2 | Journey time | Door to door? | Pre-bookable? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport Taxi Hub, pre-booked | Cost for 2: £50.60 one price per car, up to 3 passengersFrom £50.60, fixed, including 60 minutes free waiting after your flight lands | Journey time: 25 minutes | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? Yes |
| Taxi from the airport rank | Cost for 2: Metered on the Canary Islands interurban tariff: EUR 1.35 per kilometre by day plus an EUR 2.10 airport supplement, with a minimum perception of EUR 3.85 that starts the meter and covers the first 1,500 metres. Night, holiday and Christmas rates are higher | Journey time: About 26 minutes free-flow on the GC-1 | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? No |
| Global line 66 | Cost for 2: EUR 3.50 a head: EUR 3.50 travelling alone, EUR 7 for two, EUR 10.50 for three | Journey time: Hourly, first from the airport 07:30 and last 20:30 | Door to door? No | Pre-bookable? No |
When not to book us: If you land in daylight and you are travelling light, take line 66 and keep your money. EUR 3.50 a head is EUR 7 for a couple against any car you could book, the service threads the whole strip rather than dropping you at its edge, and it calls at Yumbo, Cita, Plaza Agaete and Plaza Teror on the way. Two things change that arithmetic, and both are about time rather than money. The first is the timetable: the last departure from the airport is 20:30 and the last back from Faro de Maspalomas is 19:30, which leaves an evening arrival and a pre-dawn check-in with nothing scheduled to weigh up. The second is the walk at the far end. Playa del Inglés is a grid of apartment complexes set back from the avenues, and the stop nearest your block can still be a ten-minute haul with cases in evening heat. Over the 31-kilometre road distance the Canary Islands interurban tariff would put a daytime rank meter near EUR 46 before any waiting time, so the rank is not the cheap option either. Book the car for the late landing, for the dawn departure, and for the party of four with hold luggage, travelling in an estate or a people carrier priced as one car, where the seat fares stop being the whole cost.
Where you meet your driver
- Book to the name of your apartment complex, not to Playa del Inglés in general. The resort is laid out as blocks behind long avenues and naming the complex is what stops a driver circling Avenida de Tirajana looking for you.
- Coming in, walk out of baggage reclaim and stay on Floor 0, where the outdoor pick-up area is. Only the scheduled Global services board from Floor 1, at Departures.
- Express pick-up is the standard here: the driver waits at the airport's designated point rather than in the hall. Being met inside with a name board is meet and greet, chosen and paid for at checkout.
- We watch the inbound flight and reset your collection to the real landing time. The free waiting window in your fare runs from touchdown, which covers a slow bag belt.
Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.
Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Questions people ask about this route
How much is a taxi from Gran Canaria Airport to Playa del Inglés?
The figure at the top of this page is a live quote for your date and it is fixed once you book. From the rank you would be metered instead. Playa del Ingles is a different municipality from the airport, so the Canary Islands interurban tariff applies: EUR 1.35 per kilometre by day plus an EUR 2.10 airport supplement, which over 31 kilometres comes to about EUR 46 by our own arithmetic before any waiting. The EUR 3.85 minimum perception is where the meter starts, and it covers the first 1,500 metres, so only the kilometres after them run at EUR 1.35.
Is there a bus from Gran Canaria Airport to Playa del Inglés?
Yes, Global line 66, and line 90 also serves the resort. Aena prices both at EUR 3.50 to Playa del Inglés. Line 66 runs once an hour and calls at San Agustín, Plaza Maspalomas, Yumbo, Bonn, Cita and the Tirajana squares before reaching the Playa del Inglés stop.
What time does the last bus leave Gran Canaria Airport for Playa del Inglés?
20:30 on line 66. In the other direction the last one out of Faro de Maspalomas is 19:30. If your flight lands in the evening, or you are checking in at dawn, the scheduled service simply is not running when you need it.
Is the bus cheaper than a taxi to Playa del Inglés?
Considerably, and we would rather say so. EUR 3.50 a head is EUR 7 for a couple against any booked car, and a rank meter over 31 kilometres would land near EUR 46 on the Canary Islands interurban tariff. The car buys a door, a fixed amount and a driver waiting, not a lower number.
How long does the drive from the airport to Playa del Inglés take?
Our routing engine puts the free-flow run at about 26 minutes over roughly 31 kilometres, straight down the GC-1. Free-flow assumes an empty motorway, which a Saturday changeover afternoon is not, so read it as the best case.
Where is the bus stop at Gran Canaria Airport?
Up on Floor 1, at Departures. You land on Floor 0, so reaching it means taking your cases up a level, which surprises most first-time arrivals.
Can I get a taxi in Playa del Inglés for the return leg?
Ranks are worked around the clock. The council licensing the resort said in October 2021 that it holds 356 taxi licences and that shifts run 24 hours daily at every rank in the municipality bar two inland ones. Booking still fixes the amount and the time, which a rank cannot.
Can you collect at five in the morning for an early flight home?
Yes, and the amount does not climb because of the hour, because it was agreed when you booked rather than run up on a night tariff. That is the case this service is actually for in Playa del Inglés.
Do you cover San Agustín, San Fernando and Meloneras too?
Yes, each quoted to its own address rather than to one blanket resort rate. Put the complex name and street into the booking form and the amount shown is for that journey.
What if I need to cancel?
More than 24 hours before the pick-up, cancellation is free. Inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full. Prices are per vehicle and paid online by card.
