When not to book us: Puerto Banús is the route on this coast where the cheap option barely exists. Aena publishes no airport service that ends at the marina, the railway gets no further west than Fuengirola, and what people call the coach to Banús is in practice a coach to Marbella bus station followed by a local taxi on Marbella's own meter, 3,61 euros to start and 1,07 euros a kilometre by day. Two legs, a wait in between and luggage moved twice. That still wins on money for a solo traveller with a rucksack, and if that is you, take it. For everyone else the comparison is between a booked car and a rank car, because those are the only two things that go directly. The rank meter is the Andalusian interurban scale over 61 kilometres, which the city's own sheet puts near 87 euros in daylight and 99 at night, and it runs while you sit in the summer traffic through Marbella. A price agreed in advance does not. Add the practical detail that the marina is a pedestrianised grid of berths and side streets where a driver needs the actual address, and the case for arranging it beforehand is largely made.
Where you meet your driver
- Give the precise destination in the marina: the berth number, the hotel, or the street in Nueva Andalucía. Puerto Banús is largely pedestrianised and a driver cannot search for you along the quay.
- Leave the terminal at Arrivals on Floor 0. Aena keeps the taxi stops there and sends the app cars to separate car parks, so go where your driver directs you rather than to either of those.
- Ring the driver as soon as you land, using the number in the supplier details email. It arrives separately from your confirmation, so keep a copy on your phone. The inbound flight is tracked at no extra charge, so a late landing moves your collection rather than losing it.
- Express pick-up is included in what you paid. Being met inside the hall with a name board is meet and greet, added as a paid extra at checkout.
- Whether the driver uses the tolled AP-7 through San Pedro de Alcántara or the older coast road, the fare you agreed stands and the toll is not billed on to you.
Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.
Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Questions people ask about this route
How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Puerto Banús?
We quote our fixed price live above. From the rank the meter runs on the interurban scale, and the Ayuntamiento de Málaga's guidance sheet puts the 61 km at about 87 euros in the daytime and 99 euros at night, at weekends and on public holidays.
Is there a direct coach from the airport to Puerto Banús?
Not on Aena's published list. The airport's road services run to Marbella bus station, Estepona, Nerja and further afield, and none of them terminates at the marina. Getting there without a car means a coach to Marbella and a local journey afterwards.
Can I take a train towards Puerto Banús?
No. The Cercanías line ends at Fuengirola, which is about half the coast short of the marina. Nothing on the western Costa del Sol is served by rail.
How long does it take to drive?
Around an hour for the 61 km, and longer when Marbella is busy. Late July and August afternoons are the slow ones. An agreed fare does not grow while you are sitting still, which is the main thing you are buying on a journey of this length.
Is the toll included?
There is nothing extra to pay. The motorway charges 7,90 euros Málaga to San Pedro de Alcántara at the normal level, and 12,85 euros at the special summer level for anyone who is not a registered regular user, but your price was fixed before the journey and does not change with the route taken.
What do taxis cost inside Banús and Marbella?
Puerto Banús is part of Marbella, so the municipal tariff applies: 3,61 euros to start and 1,07 euros a kilometre on working days from 06:00 to 22:00, 4,42 euros and 1,34 euros at night, at weekends and on public holidays, plus a euro pick-up supplement.
Where do I meet the driver?
At the airport's designated pick-up point on the arrivals level. Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email, and they will tell you which door to come out of.
Can you collect from a yacht or a berth?
Yes, given the berth or pontoon in the booking notes. Access around the port is restricted in places, so the driver may ask you to walk to a named corner rather than to the boat itself.
Do you handle large parties and luggage?
A saloon carries three with three standard suitcases, a people carrier five, and the largest vehicle we quote eight. For a group arriving together it is usually cheaper to book one larger vehicle than two saloons, and it keeps everyone on the same arrival.
How do payment and cancellation work?
You pay online by card when you book, for the vehicle rather than per person. Cancel more than 24 hours before the pick-up and there is no charge; inside 24 hours the full amount applies.
