When not to book us: This is the pair where the honest answer least favours the cheap option, and the reason is geography rather than price. Aena lists four TIB lines at the airport and none of them goes anywhere near Pollença: the choices are line 301, which is a Port de Pollença to Palma service ending at the Estació Intermodal in the city rather than at the terminal, or the summer A32 up the Alcúdia corridor and then line 322 across. Either way it is two legs with cases, and a cash single bought from the driver cannot be used to change lines at all, so the connection only works if you have a Tarjeta Única or a contactless bank card. Against that, a booked car is one vehicle over about 64 km of Ma-13 and Ma-2200. Where the alternatives do earn their keep is the light traveller in daylight in high season, heading for the seafront at the port and content to make the change. Anyone landing late, carrying golf bags or heading for Cala Sant Vicenç, the Formentor road or a villa up behind the town should book the car and stop doing sums.
Where you meet your driver
- Name the destination precisely. Port de Pollença, Pollença town, El Vilar and Cala Sant Vicenç are four different places on three different roads, and the one that matters is the one in the booking form.
- Come out of arrivals on floor 0 and meet your driver at the pick-up point Aena assigns to pre-booked vehicles, outside the terminal building on the arrivals side. The taxi rank is a separate queue in the same area, so follow your driver's direction rather than the rank signs.
- Flight tracking is included, so a delay moves your collection instead of losing it Meet and greet in the arrivals hall with a name board is a paid extra at checkout.
Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.
Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.
Puerto Pollensa to Palma Airport
The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £88.90 for a saloon.
Questions people ask about this route
Is there a bus from Palma Airport to Puerto Pollensa?
No direct one. Aena lists four TIB lines at the airport, to Camp de Mar, Can Picafort, Cala Bona and Campos, and none of them serves Pollença or the port. The two practical routes are line 301, which runs between Port de Pollença and Palma rather than the airport, or the summer line up the Alcúdia coast followed by line 322 across.
How long does the drive from Palma Airport to Puerto Pollensa take?
About 64.4 km, roughly 40.0 miles, with a free-flow driving time of about 54 minutes. The route runs on the Ma-19, the Ma-30, the Ma-13 north and then the Ma-2200 through Pollença. Free-flow assumes an empty road, so the real figure in season is longer.
Can I buy one ticket that gets me all the way to the port?
Only with a Tarjeta Única or a contactless bank card. A single ticket bought in cash from the driver is valid only on the line where you bought it, so it will not cover the change you have to make. TIB recommends the bank card for visitors, and one card can be validated for a group of up to five.
Why does the bus route go through Palma?
Because that is where the interurban network is centred. The Ajuntament de Palma describes the Estació Intermodal at Plaça d'Espanya as the central station for TIB services, connecting with rail, metro and city services in the same building. A line that says Palma on it ends in the city, several kilometres from the terminal.
Is a rank taxi from Palma Airport to Puerto Pollensa expensive?
It is a metered run of about 64 km. The tariff is 1,20 euros a kilometre on a working day and 1,35 at night or on a holiday, with a 2,50 or 2,85 euro flag fall and a 4,65 euro airport supplement charged once. A booked car quotes the whole thing before you fly instead.
What about a trip up to Formentor?
That is a separate journey with its own quote, and worth knowing about if you plan to take a taxi there later. The Mallorca tariff carries a mountain supplement of 8,52 euros for Cap de Formentor, Sa Calobra and Cala Tuent, and a smaller one of 4,26 euros for the Tramuntana villages; the two cannot both be charged on the same service.
Do you go to Cala Sant Vicenç and the villas behind Pollença?
Yes, quoted to the address. Cala Sant Vicenç is over the hill from the port on its own road, and the finca lanes behind Pollença are narrow, so give us the exact address and any access note when you book.
Can you collect at four in the morning for a first-wave departure?
Yes, and the price does not rise because of the hour. It is agreed when you book rather than counted up on a meter that switches to a higher rate after nine at night and all day at weekends, which matters most on a run this long.
How many people and how much luggage can you take?
A saloon takes up to three passengers with three standard suitcases, an estate a fourth passenger with the same three cases, a people carrier up to five and an eight-seat vehicle takes the largest parties. Child seats are on request; tell us the ages when you book.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before travel. Inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full. Prices are per vehicle, fixed at booking and paid online by card.
