Costa Adeje to Tenerife South Airport taxi
From £40.29 fixed for a pre-booked saloon to Tenerife South Airport.
A car booked ahead between Costa Adeje and Tenerife South Airport is from £40.29 for a saloon, and that figure holds once you pay. The drive covers 10.1 miles in about 13 minutes. Read this first: TITSA's line 40 runs the same pair for 3,70 EUR a head on its own leaflet, so two people travelling light in daylight have a real alternative and we would rather say so here than let you find it afterwards.

How this compares
| Option | Cost for 2 | Journey time | Door to door? | Pre-bookable? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport Taxi Hub, pre-booked | Cost for 2: £40.29 one price per car, up to 3 passengersFrom £40.29, fixed, including 60 minutes free waiting after your flight lands | Journey time: 13 minutes | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? Yes |
| TITSA line 40 | Cost for 2: 3,70 EUR a head for the full route on TITSA's leaflet, in cash or with a Ten+ travel card: 7,40 EUR for two and 11,10 EUR for three | Journey time: 40 minutes end to end, about every 30 minutes, every day, last departure from the airport 21:40 | Door to door? No | Pre-bookable? No |
| TITSA night line 711 | Cost for 2: Fare not published on the line page | Journey time: Costa Adeje is the last stop southbound, and the service passes the airport between 23:00 and 4:50 | Door to door? No | Pre-bookable? No |
| Taxi from the airport rank | Cost for 2: Regulated tariff rather than a fixed price. The regulation provides a flat interurban class for airport runs, but we could not find the published amount for these municipalities, so we do not quote one | Journey time: About 17 minutes free-flow over roughly 20.6 km | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? No |
| Ride-hailing app | Cost for 2: Upfront app pricing, which varies with demand | Journey time: Same road, subject to a car being free when you land | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? No |
When not to book us: Two adults with cabin bags, landing in daylight, should take line 40. It terminates at Estacion Costa Adeje, it runs every day with departures about 30 minutes apart, and at 3,70 EUR a head it is not a close contest on price. The booked car earns its money in three shapes instead: a landing after the last departure from the airport at 21:40, a party of four or more in an estate or a people carrier, priced as one car on the booking form, where the seat fares stack up, and an address that is not on the strip. Costa Adeje runs from Playa de Troya all the way to Callao Salvaje, so a villa at the far end is a long way from a station and a hot walk with cases.
Where you meet your driver
- Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email. Screenshot that email before you fly, because it arrives separately from the booking confirmation.
- Your driver waits at the airport's designated pick-up point, not in the taxi queue. Aena puts the signed rank at Terminal, Floor 0, Arrivals, and that is the one place your driver will not be.
- Express pick-up is included in your fixed price. Being met in the arrivals hall with a name board is meet and greet, a paid extra you add at checkout.
- Your flight is tracked at no charge and the free waiting window included in your fare starts when it lands, so book against the scheduled arrival rather than padding it. The allowance is set out in the comparison above.
- Give the hotel or the villa address at booking rather than just Costa Adeje. The resort runs from Playa de Troya to Callao Salvaje, and the price you are shown is for the address you type.

Questions people ask about this route
Is the bus from Tenerife South Airport to Costa Adeje cheaper than a taxi?
Yes, by a wide margin for one or two people. TITSA's own leaflet for line 40 prices the full route, airport to Estacion Costa Adeje, at 3,70 EUR, in cash or with a Ten+ card. No car of any kind competes with that on price, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
How often does line 40 run, and when does it stop?
TITSA's line page runs it every day, not weekdays only, with departures about 30 minutes apart. From Estacion Costa Adeje the first is 5:30 and the last 21:40; from the airport the first is 6:30 and the last is also 21:40. The leaflet still circulating is branded as the former line 451 and its timetable panel no longer matches, so use the line page.
How long is the drive from the airport to Costa Adeje?
About 17 minutes on an empty road over roughly 20.6 km, which is 12.8 miles. Turismo de Tenerife gives 20 kilometres for the same pair. The routing figure assumes no traffic, which the TF-1 at changeover time on a Saturday is not, so treat it as the best case.
Is there anything after the last line 40 departure?
Night line 711 ends at Estacion Costa Adeje, running from Santa Cruz down the TF-1 by way of the airport and Los Cristianos, every day, timed at 1 hour 30 minutes. Southbound it passes the airport between 23:00 and 4:50. Land between 21:40 and 23:00, or between 4:50 and 6:30, and nothing is scheduled towards Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje: line 415 calls in the second of those windows but runs inland to El Fraile and San Isidro. TITSA does not publish a fare on the 711 line page.
Can I use Uber to get to Costa Adeje from the airport?
Uber's own Adeje page says you cannot request a taxi there through the app, only UberX, priced upfront rather than on the regulated meter. Coverage on a map is not the same as a car being free at the terminal when you land, so we would not build a changeover day around it.
Is your price per person or for the whole car?
For the whole car, which is the only lever we have against a seat fare of a few euros. It stops being decisive below about three passengers, and starts being decisive as soon as the party or the luggage grows.
Do you go to the villas above the resort and out towards Callao Salvaje?
Yes, each quoted to its own address rather than to a single Costa Adeje rate. Turismo de Tenerife describes the resort as running from Playa de Troya to Callao Salvaje, which is a long stretch, so put the exact address in the form.
Where will the driver be when I come out at Tenerife South?
At the airport's designated pick-up point, reached on the mobile number in your supplier details email. Aena's signed taxi rank at Terminal, Floor 0, Arrivals is the public queue and is not where your driver waits.
What if my flight lands late?
We track the inbound and move the collection to the real landing time at no extra charge. The free waiting window included in your fare starts when the wheels are down, which covers a slow passport queue without a new charge appearing. The allowance is stated in the comparison above.
Can I cancel, and can I book the return at the same time?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before travel and charged in full inside that window. The return leg is quoted the same way, per vehicle and fixed when booked, and child seats can be added to either direction on request.
