When not to book us: Vilamoura is the one pair on this airport where a scheduled service is genuinely convenient, so the honest answer is that it often wins. Line 55 is a direct link, it lands you at Vilamoura Posto 2 in 41 minutes, and a single off the distance-banded table in the 25 to 28 km range is 4.35 euros at the simple tariff. For a couple arriving on a weekday lunchtime with hand luggage, that is a better use of money than any car. Two things undo it. The first is the clock: the last departure from the airport is 19h20, and a large share of UK flights into Faro land after that. The second is the shape of Vilamoura. Posto 2 is not the marina, the marina is not the Old Village, and neither is the golf, so unless you are staying within a short walk of the stop the journey does not finish where the bus does, and dragging cases along the Avenida in thirty degrees is its own argument. Our price is per vehicle rather than per seat, so a party of three or a pair of golf bags changes the sum quickly. Take line 55 in daylight with light luggage; book the car for the evening landing, the group, the clubs and the address that is not on the route.

Yes, and Vilamoura is the only Faro resort with a direct one. Vamus line 55 runs between Vilamoura and the airport via Quarteira, Almancil and the university at Gambelas. From the airport it leaves at 08h30, 10h30, 14h30, 15h30, 17h30 and 19h20, taking 41 minutes direct or 51 via the campus.

Does the Aerobus go to Vilamoura?

No. Line 56, the Aerobus, runs Faro and the airport to the bus terminals at Albufeira, Lagoa, Portimao and Lagos. Vilamoura is served by line 55 instead, which is a different service with a different timetable.
