Faro Airport to Carvoeiro taxi
From £52.93 fixed for a pre-booked saloon to Faro Airport.
A pre-booked car from Faro Airport to Carvoeiro is from £52.93 for a saloon, fixed the moment you book. The drive covers 39.6 miles in about 47 minutes, leaving the A22 at Lagoa and dropping to the coast on the EN 124-1. Carvoeiro is the awkward one of our Faro destinations: no scheduled service on the Vamus network is published as calling there, so the coach leaves you at Lagoa bus terminal about 3 miles short.

How this compares
| Option | Cost for 2 | Journey time | Door to door? | Pre-bookable? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport Taxi Hub, pre-booked | Cost for 2: £52.93 one price per car, up to 3 passengersFrom £52.93, fixed, including 60 minutes free waiting after your flight lands | Journey time: 47 minutes | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? Yes |
| Aerobus to Lagoa, then onward by road | Cost for 2: 13 euros a head to Lagoa bus terminal, plus whatever the last 3 miles costs you | Journey time: About 1 hour 10 to Lagoa, then a separate journey of roughly 5 km to the village | Door to door? No | Pre-bookable? Yes |
| Taxi from the airport rank | Cost for 2: Metered. The new national tariff, in force since 18 August 2026, charges 0.58 euros a kilometre and 0.28 euros a minute for 2026, plus the 2 euro flag fall Annex I sets. The A22 toll is added on top of the meter. Taxis have until about 27 October 2026 to reprogram their meters, and a car not yet changed over charges the previous tariff instead | Journey time: About 68 km, most of it on the A22 before the turn south | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? No |
| Train, via Faro and Estombar-Lagoa | Cost for 2: The fare into Faro first, then a CP regional fare, then road transport at the far end | Journey time: Three legs, and the line does not come near the coast at Carvoeiro | Door to door? No | Pre-bookable? Yes |
When not to book us: Carvoeiro is where we stop pretending the scheduled network is a real alternative. The Aerobus is good value to Lagoa at 13 euros, and if Lagoa were your destination we would say take it. It is not. No line in the Vamus timetable calls at Carvoeiro at all: the three services touching Lagoa run out to Benagil and the Praia da Marinha beaches, west to Portimao, or inland to Silves, none of them through the village, so you arrive at Lagoa bus terminal with roughly 5 km still to cover on the EN 124-1 and have to buy that separately. Add the cases, add the fact that Carvoeiro is built into a cliff so that the streets above the beach are steep and one-way, and the saving has usually gone by the time you reach the front door. The honest exception is a solo traveller with a rucksack staying in Lagoa itself or walking distance from the terminal, and if that is you the coach is cheaper than anything we sell. For everyone going to the village, the clifftop apartments, Vale de Centeanes or Algar Seco, one fixed fare to the door is the sensible purchase, particularly since the A22 toll is inside our price and outside a rank meter.
Where you meet your driver
- Give the street address, not just Carvoeiro. The village drops into a cove and the roads above it, towards Algar Seco and Vale de Centeanes, are steep, narrow and one-way in places, so the driver needs to approach from the right side of the hill.
- Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email. Faro Airport publishes no fixed meeting point for pre-booked drivers, so the driver's message is the instruction to follow.
- Express pick-up is included in the fixed price and means your driver waits at the airport's designated pick-up point. A name board in the arrivals hall is meet and greet, a paid extra added at checkout.
- Flight tracking is included at no charge, so a delayed inbound moves the collection rather than losing it, and the free waiting allowance starts at touchdown.
- For the return, book against the same address rather than against Lagoa. It is about 5 km between the two, and a car sent to the bus terminal is a car in the wrong town at six in the morning.

Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.
Carvoeiro to Faro Airport
The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £52.93 for a saloon.
Questions people ask about this route
Is there a bus from Faro Airport to Carvoeiro?
No direct one, and no indirect one either as far as the operator publishes: no line in the Vamus timetable calls at Carvoeiro. The three services that touch Lagoa are 77, which loops out to Praia da Marinha and Benagil, 110, which runs west to Portimão via Sesmarias, and 113, which heads inland to Silves and São Bartolomeu de Messines. The nearest the airport coach gets is Lagoa Terminal Rodoviário.
How far is Carvoeiro from Lagoa bus terminal?
About 5.2 km, roughly 3.3 miles, on the EN 124-1. That is around eight minutes by road with no traffic, and it is a separate journey you have to arrange and pay for after the coach has finished.
How much is the coach to Lagoa?
13 euros for a single from Faro Aeroporto to Lagoa, with 20 per cent off a return, and about 1 hour 10 minutes for the run. If Lagoa itself is where you are staying, that is a cheaper way to travel than anything we sell.
How long does a transfer from Faro Airport to Carvoeiro take?
About 68 km, roughly 43 miles, using the EN 125, the IC 4, the A22 and then the EN 124-1 down to the coast. Free-flow routing puts that at about 72 minutes, which is a floor rather than the time you would expect on a Saturday in August.
Is the toll included in your price?
Yes, ours covers the whole journey and the A22 toll with it. On a metered fare the position is different: the national tariff makes the toll payable by the passenger on top of the meter reading, and Faro Airport names the Via do Infante as the road in question.
Can I get a train to Carvoeiro?
Not usefully. There is no station at the airport, so you would travel into Faro first, then take a CP regional service along the Algarve line, and the line runs well inland of the cliffs here, leaving a third leg by road. Three changes with luggage to save a fare is a poor trade on this pair.
Do you cover Ferragudo, Praia do Carvoeiro and Algar Seco?
Yes, each quoted to its own address rather than to one Carvoeiro rate. Enter the address or postcode when you book and the price shown is for that drop, including the ones up on the clifftop.
Will a saloon cope with the hill streets?
Yes, local drivers work these roads daily. What matters more is the party and the luggage: a saloon takes up to 3 people with 3 standard suitcases, an estate takes a fourth passenger with the same 3 cases, a people carrier seats up to 5 and the largest class we run seats up to 8.
Can you collect before dawn for an early flight?
Yes, at any hour, and the amount does not change with the time of day. It is agreed at booking rather than accumulating on a meter with a night multiplier, which matters on a run this long.
What happens if the flight is delayed, and what about cancelling?
We track the inbound and move the collection to the real landing time at no extra charge, with free waiting from touchdown. Cancellations more than 24 hours before pick-up are free; inside 24 hours the fare is charged in full. Prices are per vehicle, fixed at booking and paid online by card.
