When not to book us: In summer, with one or two of you and a cabin bag each, buy the Aerobus ticket. It is 11 euros a head from the airport to Albufeira bus terminal in 40 to 45 minutes, and no honest comparison hands that journey to a car on money alone. Three things change the arithmetic. The first is the calendar: five of the seven weekday departures are summer-only, so from November to April you are choosing between 11h15 and 18h15 and nothing else, which is no use to a flight landing at nine at night. The second is where you are actually staying. Albufeira is not one place. The old town sits at the bottom of a cliff, Oura and Areias de Sao Joao are a long walk east along the strip, Olhos de Agua and Balaia are separate villages again, and the terminal the coach arrives at is up behind the town rather than in it, so the last mile is a climb with cases. The third is the party: our price is per vehicle, so three people split one fare while three coach tickets cost 33 euros. Book the car for the winter arrival, the hillside apartment and the family; take the coach for the July couple heading to the terminal end of town.
Where you meet your driver
- Book to the actual address, not to Albufeira. Oura, Areias de Sao Joao, Montechoro, Olhos de Agua and the old town are separate journeys down separate one-way systems, and the postcode is what stops a driver arriving at the wrong end of the cliff.
- Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email. Faro Airport publishes no fixed meeting point for pre-booked drivers, so the driver's instruction is the one that counts.
- Express pick-up is included in your fixed price: the driver waits at the airport's designated pick-up point rather than in the hall. Being met inside arrivals with a name board is meet and greet, a paid extra you add at checkout.
- Flight tracking is included at no charge, so a late landing moves your collection rather than losing it. The free waiting allowance that starts at touchdown is set out under what it costs above.
- Going back, give yourself the whole run rather than the free-flow figure. The road west is about 50 km on the A22 and the EN 125, and August traffic through Guia is not the empty road a routing engine assumes.

Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

The return direction is quoted separately, because the two legs can be won by different operators. It is currently from £34.99 for a saloon.
Questions people ask about this route
How much is a taxi from Faro Airport to Albufeira?
Our price is quoted live on this page before you book and covers the whole vehicle including the toll. A rank car is metered instead. The new national tariff, in force since 18 August 2026, charges 0.58 euros a kilometre and 0.28 euros a minute for 2026, on top of a 2 euro flag fall, with the A22 toll added to whatever the meter reads. Taxis have until about 27 October 2026 to reprogram their meters, and a car not yet changed over charges the previous tariff instead.
Is there a direct bus from Faro Airport to Albufeira?
Yes. Vamus line 56, branded Aerobus, runs from the airport to Albufeira Terminal Rodoviario in 40 to 45 minutes for 11 euros a single, with 20 per cent off a return. On weekdays it leaves the airport at 08h30, 09h30, 11h15, 12h30, 14h30, 16h00 and 18h15.
Does the Aerobus run in winter?
Barely. Five of the seven weekday departures from the airport are marked Verao, which means summer only. Outside summer the weekday service is 11h15 and 18h15, so an evening flight in February lands after the last coach has gone.
Is the bus cheaper than a transfer to Albufeira?
For one or two people, in summer, yes. Two singles are 22 euros against one whole-vehicle fare. Three people is where it turns: three tickets cost 33 euros while our price is per car, not per seat. What the car adds beyond that is the door, the toll already paid, a driver already waiting and no dependence on the two off-season departures.
Can I get the train from Faro Airport to Albufeira?
Not directly, and it is rarely worth the detour. There is no station at the airport, so you would travel into Faro first, then take a CP regional service along the Algarve line. The station at the far end is Albufeira-Ferreiras, which is about 6 miles north of the town centre, so a third leg by road is unavoidable.
How long does the drive from Faro Airport to Albufeira take?
About 50 km of road, using the EN 125-10 out of the airport, then the EN 125, the IC 4 and the A22 Via do Infante. Free-flow routing puts that at roughly 58 minutes, but free-flow assumes an empty road, which the stretch past Guia in August is not.
Do you cover Oura, Olhos de Agua and Montechoro?
Yes, and each is quoted to its own address rather than to a single Albufeira rate. Put the exact address or postcode in the form and the price you are shown is for that journey, including the climb up from the strip.
Is the A22 toll included in your price?
Yes. Your quote is the whole amount for the vehicle and nothing is added afterwards. That is a real difference from the meter, where the national regulation makes the toll payable by the passenger on top of the fare shown.
Can you collect at four in the morning for an early flight home?
Yes, and the amount does not rise because of the hour. It is agreed when you book rather than run up on a meter with a night multiplier, which is the practical difference when you are leaving Albufeira before the town is awake.
What if my flight is delayed or I want to cancel?
We track the inbound flight and reset the pick-up to the real landing time at no extra charge, and your fare includes free waiting from touchdown. Cancel more than 24 hours before pick-up and it is free; inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full. Prices are per vehicle, fixed at booking, paid online by card.
