How this compares
| Option | Cost for 2 | Journey time | Door to door? | Pre-bookable? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Airport Taxi Hub, pre-booked | Cost for 2: £57.35 one price per car, up to 3 passengersFrom £57.35, fixed, including 60 minutes free waiting after your flight lands | Journey time: 19 minutes | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? Yes |
| TIB line A11 from arrivals | Cost for 2: Charged by zone jumps and capped at the four-jump band. | Taxi from the airport rank | Cost for 2: Metered, with a minimum fare from the airport of 16,95 euros covering the first 7 kilometres and 1,20 euros a kilometre after that on a working day | Journey time: The same road, plus the rank queue | Door to door? Yes | Pre-bookable? No |
When not to book us: Of the eight resorts on this hub, Palma Nova is the one where the case for booking ahead is weakest, and it is fair to say so. The run is about 24.5 km on fast road, the A11 leaves from the same arrivals level all year rather than only in season, and its fare is capped at the four-jump band however far you go. The 3,60 euro figure published against that band is the resident Tarjeta Única price; a visitor pays the on-board cash single, which TIB does not publish and which its own page describes the card price as a 60 per cent discount on. Two things push the other way, and neither is about the fare. The first is party size: the rank tariff adds 3,00 euros for five or six passengers and 6,00 for seven or eight, while our price is for the vehicle whatever fills it, and Palma Nova is a family resort where four is the exception rather than the rule. The second is where you are actually going. The line runs the main road through Son Caliu and Palmanova; the apartments climbing away from Passeig del Mar, the Torrenova end and the Sa Porrassa side are a walk from it with cases in the heat. If you are two adults with cabin bags landing in daylight, take the A11 and keep the money.
Where you meet your driver
- Book to the street and the building, not to Palma Nova as a whole. Son Caliu, the Passeig del Mar front and the Torrenova side sit on different approaches, and the one-way loops behind the beach are unforgiving of a guess.
- Leave arrivals on floor 0 and meet your driver at the pick-up point Aena assigns to pre-booked vehicles, outside the terminal building on the arrivals side. It is not the taxi rank, which is a separate queue for passengers who have not booked.
- Flight tracking is included at no charge, so a delayed landing shifts your pick-up rather than losing it, and you should book for the scheduled arrival. A name board in the arrivals hall is meet and greet, a paid extra at checkout.
Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.
Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Questions people ask about this route
How long is the transfer from Palma Airport to Palma Nova?
About 24.5 km, roughly 15.2 miles, with a free-flow driving time of about 20 minutes on the Ma-19, the Ma-20 Via de Cintura and the Ma-1. Free-flow assumes an empty road, and the Via de Cintura in the evening is not that, so allow more in practice.
Is there a bus from Palma Airport to Palma Nova?
Yes, and unusually for this airport it runs outside the summer season too. TIB line A11 Peguera to Aeroport calls at Palmanova along with Magaluf, Santa Ponça and Son Caliu, and Aena lists its airport stop as Terminal floor 0 Arrivals. The A32 and A42 lines to the other coasts are flagged as summer services; the A11 is not.
How much is the A11 to Palma Nova?
Zone jumps decide it, and the total freezes once you pass the fourth. The catch is whose total gets published. Those 3,60 euros are what a Tarjeta Única holder pays, and eligibility stops at Balearic citizens between 31 and 64 who show a padrón certificate or an island address on their identity card. TIB describes the card rate as 60 per cent below the ticket sold by the driver, yet never states the driver's own price.
Is a taxi from the rank cheaper than booking a transfer to Palma Nova?
For two people in daylight it can be close. The rank is metered with a minimum fare from the airport of 16,95 euros covering the first 7 kilometres and 1,20 euros a kilometre after that on a working day, and this is a run of about 24 km. What the booked car buys is a price fixed before you fly, a driver already waiting and no queue with the cases.
We are a family of six. Does that change anything?
It does on the rank. The Palma tariff adds 3,00 euros for a party of five or six and 6,00 euros for seven or eight, and a standard car seats four. Our prices are per vehicle, so a people carrier for five is one figure whether you fill it or not.
Can a Palma taxi take me back to the airport from Palma Nova?
In season, yes, and that is the part worth knowing. Calvià is one of the eight municipalities in the joint taxi service across the bay of Palma and the Serra, so both ends of this journey sit in one pooled licensing area of more than 1,530 cars working around the clock. It lasts a season at a time. The permission ended on 30 September 2025 and the Govern expected to reinstate it between 1 June and 30 September 2026, so through the winter months no such pooling exists.
Where do I find my driver at Palma Airport?
At the pick-up point Aena assigns to pre-booked vehicles, on floor 0 outside the terminal building on the arrivals side. Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email. Express pick-up is included; a name board inside the hall is meet and greet, a paid extra.
Do you charge extra for a late landing?
No. The amount is agreed when you book and does not rise with the hour, which is the practical difference from a meter that switches to a higher rate after nine at night and all day at weekends and on official holidays.
Do you cover Son Caliu, Portals Nous and Costa d'en Blanes?
Yes, each priced to its own address rather than at a single Palma Nova rate. Put the hotel or apartment address in the form and the figure you see is for that door.
What if we need to cancel?
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before travel; inside 24 hours the booking is charged in full. Prices are per vehicle, fixed when you book and paid online by card. Child seats are available on request.
