When not to book us: Flaine is not a resort where the cheap option is obviously worse, but it is one where the shape of the arrival matters more than the fare. There is no railway into the resort, and in winter there is a direct scheduled link we would rather name than omit: the tourist office publishes a Eurobus route between Geneva airport, at the P6 car park, and Flaine Forum. Outside that, the realistic alternatives mean reaching Cluses by train through Geneva Cornavin and taking an Altibus connection up, which is doable and slower than it looks on a map. The tourist office gives the resort as 70 km from Geneva; the quote above measures the road to your address instead. Two people travelling light in daylight can make either of those work. What a booked car buys here is very concrete. The resort is pedestrianised and cars cannot enter it: you get 90 minutes free to unload in front of your accommodation at Forum, Foret or Front de Neige, and then the vehicle has to leave for a car park outside. Arriving at the door inside that window with a driver who knows where Forum ends and Foret begins is the difference between a five minute unload and an hour of hauling bags through a pedestrian precinct. The road is the other half. ATMB says winter holiday traffic on the Autoroute Blanche triples from Friday to Sunday with 80 000 vehicles on a Saturday, and Cluses is the junction for this valley, so a fixed price absorbs a delay that a meter would charge you for.
Where you meet your driver
- Book to the level as well as the building: Flaine Forum, Flaine Forêt and Flaine Front de Neige are separate places on a steep site, not districts of one street.
- Come out to the Arrivals level and ring your driver as soon as you land. The number is in the supplier details email rather than the booking confirmation.
- Have the accommodation key or the key box code to hand before you arrive. You have 90 minutes of free unloading in front of the building and then the vehicle must move to a car park outside the resort.
- Express pick-up is included in the price paid, with the driver at the airport's designated pick-up point. Meet and greet in the arrivals hall with a name board is a paid extra at checkout.
- From November to March the vehicle carries chains or runs winter tyres because the law in the listed mountain communes requires it, which on the D106 climb above Cluses is worth having.
Contact your driver as soon as you land, their number is in your supplier details email.
Arrivals-hall meet and greet with a name board is available as a paid extra at checkout.

Questions people ask about this route
How much is a taxi from Geneva Airport to Flaine?
Our price is quoted live above and fixed when you book. A rank car is metered on Tarif II at 3,80 francs a kilometre, the tariff for journeys leaving the canton and for parties of more than three, plus a 7,80 franc airport pick-up charge and 1,50 francs for each case or pair of skis.
Can the car drive up to our apartment in Flaine?
To the door, but not to stay. Flaine is pedestrianised and vehicles remain in car parks outside the resort. You are allowed 90 minutes free of charge to unload in front of your accommodation at Flaine Forum, Forêt and Front de Neige, after which the car must go to a park outside.
What is the road route from Geneva to Flaine?
The tourist office gives the A40 towards Geneva and Chamonix, off at exit 19 for Cluses Centre, then the N205 towards Sallanches for 2 km and the first left at the roundabout onto the D106 for Flaine and Les Carroz. Its own page puts the resort 70 km from Geneva; the quote above measures the road our driver takes to your building, which is the longer of the two.
How much longer does the winter journey take?
Plan for considerably longer on a changeover Saturday. ATMB says winter holiday traffic on the Autoroute Blanche is multiplied by three from Friday to Sunday, with 80 000 vehicles on Saturdays, and it publishes density forecasts for the Cluses sector specifically. Our price does not change when the road does.
Is there a direct bus from Geneva Airport to Flaine?
In winter, yes. The tourist office publishes a Eurobus route running direct between Geneva airport, from the P6 car park, and Flaine Forum. Outside the winter season the published route is by train to Cluses through Geneva Cornavin and then an Altibus connection up to the resort, with Cluses 30 km away. The resort asks you to book buses, trains and passenger transport early either way.
Is there a shuttle inside Flaine?
Yes, a regular inter-resort service running summer and winter between the Col de Pierre Carrée and Flaine Forêt, calling at the Hameau de Flaine and Flaine Les Gérats. It is what makes a pedestrianised resort workable once the car has gone to the park.
Do we need winter tyres or chains?
The vehicle does. From 1 November to 31 March, in the mountain communes listed by prefectural order, any vehicle with four or more wheels must carry anti-skid devices for at least two drive wheels or run four winter tyres, with signs marking each zone. A pre-booked car arrives equipped.
How many of us fit in one vehicle?
A saloon takes three passengers and three standard suitcases, an estate four passengers, a people carrier five, and the largest vehicle we quote eight. Ski bags count as luggage, and here they matter twice: once in the boot, and once in the 90 minutes you have to get everything out of it. Child seats are on request.
What if our flight is late?
We track it and move the pick-up to the real landing time at no extra charge, and the free waiting window in your fare starts when the aircraft lands. Given the unloading window at the far end, arriving with the right driver rather than the first available one matters here.
How do we pay, and what if we cancel?
Payment is online by card when you book and covers the whole vehicle rather than the seat count. Cancel more than 24 hours before pick-up and nothing is charged; inside 24 hours the fare is payable in full.
